Efficiency First - hall heating offers enormous savings potential
Industrial and commercial buildings in particular consume tons of energy every winter. Consumption, costs and emissions that could be significantly reduced with a manageable investment. The solution lies in technologies that have been developed specifically for the energy-efficient heating of hall buildings. One example is H.Y.B.R.I.D. The extremely economical overall solution for hall heating generates up to 15 % of extra energy from residual heat utilization. Up to 70 % energy savings in total. This could be worthwhile for almost any hall project - regardless of whether it is a new or existing building.
Three components for greater efficiency when heating halls
H.Y.B.R.I.D. combines energy-efficient hall heating, intelligent control technology and residual heat utilization. The high-efficiency infrared heaters from KÜBLER bring up to 80 % of infrared heat directly into the area where the halls are used. The latest generation of digital heating controls optimizes the heating operation and thus reduces energy consumption by around 20 %. The KÜBLER heat exchanger uses the waste heat from infrared heaters to recover up to 15 % of energy. And there is another remarkable figure: in the overall H.Y.B.R.I.D. system, a firing efficiency of up to 108 percent can be achieved. Promising signs of how the heating of large rooms can follow the Efficiency First principle and be more economical.
Efficiency First pays off for the company balance sheet - and for the environment
Practical examples show how these values pay off for hall operators. CO2 emissions were reduced by around 65 % by modernizing the heating system with H.Y.B.R.I.D. in a production hall of the AZO group of companies in Osterburken. Specifically, from approx. 226,400 kg p.a. to approx. 79,800 kg per year. Efficiency First was also the focus at Reiners + Fürst. The energy savings achieved by the textile machinery manufacturer during the energy-efficient refurbishment of its production and storage areas were also around 65 %. The savings here amount to around 46,5000 euros and 299 tons of CO2 emissions per year. Incidentally, Reiners + Fürst was awarded first place in the Energy Masters Award in the buildings category in 2014 for the refurbishment of the hall heating system and the integration of residual heat utilization in the hall heating, compressed air and curing oven in the H.Y.B.R.I.D. system.
How the economical hall heating system works
The functional principle of KÜBLER residual heat utilization is basically very simple. The energy contained in the exhaust gas is extracted and transferred to a storage medium, usually water. A buffer tank stores the hot water, which is then fed into a standard pumped hot water heating network as required. The energy recovered in this way can then be used for domestic hot water or for hot water-based heating. The fact that this happens at virtually no additional consumption costs should be of great interest to many hall operators. Overall, the KÜBLER heat exchanger can recover and utilize up to 15 percent of the heat. Thomas Kübler, Managing Partner of KÜBLER GmbH Energiesparende Hallenheizungen: "This figure, in addition to our already extremely energy-efficient infrared systems, marks a quantum leap for us in economical hall heating."
H.Y.B.R.I.D. combines energy-saving hall heating with other efficiency technologies and production processes
In addition to its high energy efficiency, the H.Y.B.R.I.D. hall heating system has another important advantage: it offers enormous flexibility in the integration of different technologies and energy sources. At Reiners + Fürst, the energy flows from heating, curing ovens and compressors were combined in this way. The heating requirements of 1,200 m² of office space can thus be completely covered by the use of residual heat. There are also a number of other possible combinations. For example, the H.Y.B.R.I.D. hall heating system can be combined with solar thermal modules or heat pumps. And: H.Y.B.R.I.D. provides the basis for WÄRME 4.0, the innovative digital hall heating system from KÜBLER.
The hall heating solution for new builds, retrofitting and modernization
Incidentally, the H.Y.B.R.I.D. system is just as economically interesting for new installations as it is for the energy-efficient upgrading of existing buildings or for retrofitting. Designed as a module, the KÜBLER heat exchanger can be integrated into existing infrared heating systems as required.
H.Y.B.R.I.D. has received several awards for Efficiency First
When the H.Y.B.R.I.D. hall heating system came onto the market, it triggered a minor revolution in the industry. For the first time, the hall heating specialist KÜBLER had succeeded in developing an economically viable residual heat utilization system for infrared hall heating. The integrated overall solution consisting of dark radiators, digital control and residual heat utilization has received several awards, including the German Sustainability Award. Since then, H.Y.B.R.I.D. has firmly established itself on the market. What's new? The system has become even more efficient. Because H.Y.B.R.I.D. integrates the most powerful and environmentally friendly efficiency technologies currently available from KÜBLER, including the digital heating concept WÄRME 4.0
Energy efficiency made in LU
When it comes to the economical heating of halls, infrared technology from hall heating specialist KÜBLER is one of the most efficient systems. The economical energy consumption can pay off in 6-digit cost savings and reduce the burden on the environment by saving tons of CO2 emissions. For almost 30 years, the Ludwigshafen-based company has been focusing on the further development of infrared technology as the most efficient heating principle for high rooms. Since then, the energy-saving solutions made in LU have revolutionized the hall heating sector. The entire range of state-of-the-art infrared heating technologies available today originated in KÜBLER's development department. Starting with the first specifically consumption-optimized hall heating system, through the multi-award-winning H.Y.B.R.I.D. system to the WÄRME 4.0 digital hall heating system. It is not without reason that KÜBLER is regarded as the technology and innovation leader in the industry and regularly receives

High halls - high energy consumption. It's worth taking a closer look. If you want to know where energy is being wasted, you need transparency. A clear view of whether and where heat is being wasted and thus causing unnecessarily high costs and emissions. By leaving hall doors open for too long, for example. By heating unused hall areas. Or through suboptimal heating times. A smart tool from the hall heating specialist KÜBLER now provides clarity: the E.M.M.A. heat management system, which ensures reduced costs, less CO2 and greater efficiency in industrial heating processes.
