No renewable energy obligation for existing halls

It is incorrect that halls can only be heated in accordance with the law using a heat pump. It is correct that the Heating Act aims to accelerate climate protection and therefore stipulates the obligation to use renewable energies. However, there are much better ways to heat hall buildings in a GEG-compliant and climate-friendly manner.

On the road to a carbon-free future, energy efficiency is perhaps the most important pillar of decarbonization—because, as „low-hanging fruit,“ efficiency measures to reduce CO₂ are usually easier, faster, and more cost-effective than substitution with renewable energies.

For this reason, high-efficiency solutions such as infrared hall heating systems from KÜBLER, which have been proven to achieve energy savings of at least 40 percent, are exempt from the obligation to use renewable energies in the GEG.
